Happy Friday, all! 🌻
I hope everyone is gearing up for a reflective and rejuvenating holiday!
With that in mind, I wanted to share some insights into how downtime, is a HUGE part of how we remember more, focus better, and build novel insights from our diverse experiences—which ultimately builds the narrative of how we view our entire life, at the end of it.
Take it from a lead neuroscientist on the power of focus on learning:
Here are the major takeaways:
Exercise: It improves our brain and creates new brain cells
Focus: Do some focus exercises like meditation
Practice alertness (to improve its 8-30 min cycle)
Sleep: it converts short-term memory into long-term
Repeat: Repetition is necessary in various stages of learning
Take breaks (20 min) in between long hours of learning (recall Pomodoro technique!?)
Make mistakes to train your brain to handle new things
With that, I will leave you with my 3 major insights this week~
